Client: Eauclaire and Orbital Marine Power
Project: O2-X
Location: Bay of Fundy, NS
Eauclaire is a Canadian tidal power developer while Orbital Marine Power is a Scottish-based developer of the world’s leading floating tidal turbine technology. The proposed Project would utilize tidal energy harnessed from the motion of the dynamic Bay of Fundy tides by turning two rotors—one on each of the two legs of the Orbital O2-X—installed in the water column and converting this energy into electricity and exporting to the FORCE substation for integration with the Nova Scotia power grid. The project will consist of three O2-X turbines, with an initial deployment of one device, followed by the other two devices after review of environmental monitoring results for the initial device and approval by DFO. Bluedot is supporting with the Fisheries Act Authorization, regulatory and First Nations engagement, and development of the Offsetting Plan.
